Guido Schipper’s office was established in 2008. After gaining extensive experience within the legal profession, the move was made to an independent company – GJ Legal. Guido talks about GJ Legal and their office space at Tauro.
Creative solutions
Specialising in construction law, tenancy law, administrative law and environmental law. ‘Build, rent and operate’, as they say themselves – for real estate law, from A to Z, including all necessary agreements and permits. For any party operating in this field, the firm is on standby. Not only entrepreneurs and companies, but also with some regularity for (semi-)public authorities.

No case is the same
“I start the day with a cup of coffee and booting up the laptop. Then I check and answer my mail and then I deal with what is going on that day. Moreover, because of the combination with interim work, I am also regularly in clients’ offices as an interim lawyer, which has a dynamic all its own.”
“What I enjoy most about my work, then, is the variety – no case is the same – and the combination of my work as a lawyer and interim lawyer. This always provides a view of practice that I could never have had with only the proverbial ‘lawyer’s glasses’ on.“
The most striking/craziest/funniest thing Guido has experienced at GJ Legal? ‘Where shall I start… Being able to act as a Dutch lawyer for one of the EU member states, to being able to watch the sun rise in the morning from my workplace in a construction shack on the Second Maasvlakte. And so I am proud to have been able to help prevent the bankruptcy of an SME with almost 20 employees.’
Consistency is a key word
At GJ Legal, there are now two of them – small but nice, as Guido calls it. ‘But we do have an extensive network of other lawyers and specialists that we can involve in files if necessary.’
The company sees itself in a similar position in 5 years’ time, with continuity being the key word. “In 5 years, of course, we will be further enriched with knowledge, experience and good contacts.”
